Amletical Places (House)
Net construction suspended between lines from the top of the pole. The tent was planed and sewn before it was connected to the lines. My intention was to use and emphasize the large space on the slope
Materials: Net (PE), line (polykordel), wooden pole, bamboo pegs.
The House was one of three tents that I constructed during the Paessaggio.Art.Landscape Festival
in Biella, Italy, March 11 to 19. The festival was arranged by Marie-Rose Mayele and Anne-Beth Schuurmans - Compagnie sQueezz.
Eigth artists from Italy and Northern Europe met and developed four pieces of art in the landscape. Together with Italian performer and director Simone Severgnini I developed the tents as a part of a short play about yearning and doubt. Around the House Simone shouted out free interpretations of Shakespeares Hamlet.
The only bearing construction in the House was a single pole. The lines holding the house covered an area of app. 40 x 10 meters.
From the performance. Me, following the lines of the House.
